The runaway choice for new Colorado Brewery of 2014 was Comrade Brewing in Denver, which, like Cannonball Creek, opened with a battle-tested brewer manning the kettles. Marks Lanham moved from Barley Brown’s Brewpub in eastern Oregon. His Superpower IPA is winning raves as a game-changer and the state’s best IPA. Eight respondents picked Comrade as the top newcomer.
New Colorado brewery of the year: Comrade Brewing Company. Top-notch beers across the board from day one, and one of the best American IPAs on the planet. Nice work, David and Marks.
When Marks Lanham signed on as Comrade Brewing’s head brewer, he knew he wanted one trick in his repertoire: an IPA that replicated one that won all sorts of glory during Lanham’s tenure brewing in the breadbasket of American hop-farming.
We’re almost ready for you, Denver! As you probably know, our Grand Opening is tomorrow, April 26, and we’re really excited to finally show you what we’ve been working on.
